We were delighted to welcome back our inspiring alumnae (Laurels) for Fearlessly Forward, an evening of open and honest conversation about life after EHS.

The event gave current and external prospective Sixth Form students the opportunity to hear first-hand experiences from former pupils who are now studying, training, and working across a wide range of exciting fields. It was a fantastic chance for those interested in joining EHS Sixth Form to ask questions, gain insight into different pathways, and better understand how EHS can support their future aspirations.

We would like to thank our Laurels who generously shared their journeys and advice:

  • Jessica Gannon – MA in Psychology, University of Nottingham
  • Polly Starkie – Women’s Sports Journalist, Manchester
  • Isabel Jones – Textiles Design, Loughborough University
  • Dominique Al-Hindawi – Paediatric Doctor, Birmingham
  • Rebecca Presswod – Engineer, London
  • Maya Chavda – English & Linguistics PGCE, University of Oxford
  • Megan Hardiman – Biochemistry, University of York
  • Priti Bansel-Branch – Head of Legal, Shoosmiths
  • Abigail Tomlinson – Currently studying languages at the University of Cambridge, based in Paris

Top Tips from Our Laurels

Our alumnae shared valuable advice to help students feel confident and prepared for the future:

  • Be comfortable with being uncomfortable
  • Don’t be afraid to make mistakes
  • Find your niche before it becomes popular
  • Resting does not mean you are lazy
  • Getting things wrong does not mean total failure
  • Find something you love, not just academics
  • Transferable skills help you stand out

Networking was a central theme throughout the evening. Students valued the opportunity to engage in conversation with the Laurels, forming new connections and friendships, while our alumnae also enjoyed reconnecting with one another.

An inspiring and empowering event that truly reflected our Fearlessly Forward spirit.
