This Christmas, our school is delighted to support Birmingham City Mission’s inspiring Toy Link Project, an initiative that brings festive joy to thousands of children across the city.

Each year, the charity collects, wraps, and distributes gifts to families who might otherwise struggle at Christmas. Thanks to the generosity of volunteers across Birmingham, around 3,000 children receive a sack of carefully chosen presents to open on Christmas morning.

As part of our whole-school appeal, we are focusing on collecting gifts for teenagers. Older children are often overlooked in Christmas gift drives, and we want to ensure that they too can enjoy the excitement of receiving something special during the festive season.

In addition to the appeal, a small group of our Year 9 Girls With Goals participants took part in a special volunteering experience at Birmingham City Mission. During their visit, the girls worked alongside the charity’s dedicated team to choose, wrap, and prepare gift parcels for families across the city.

This hands-on experience not only supports a wonderful local cause but also gives our students the chance to see the real impact of kindness, teamwork, and community involvement. It offers a meaningful opportunity to understand how their time and effort can bring joy and hope to others during the festive season.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 9 girls for their enthusiasm, commitment, and the positive spirit they bring to the Girls With Goals programme. Their willingness to give back reflects the values we strive to nurture throughout our school community.

Together, through compassion and action, our students are helping to make Christmas brighter for families across Birmingham, proving that even the smallest gestures can make a big difference.
